Read, wRite, Ride Camps:  Camps are designed to promote horsemanships skills and develope a lifelong love of horses. We add a new element! We add skill building and learning tools for writing and reading too. We have certified teachers with a strong literacy background. Camps are for any level of ability in all or the 3 R's. Lots of time will be spent with horses, crafts, reading and writing. Snack provided. Cost is $200.00 per session. Each session will be different and build on skills learned. May use lesson horses or bring your own horse. Camps are limited to 8 students each. Nonrefundable $50.00 deposit required.

2011 Schedule:

June 14-17 for children in 1st-3rd grade. Starting time 12:30pm ending time 5:30pm Tuesday through Thursday. Friday starting time is 12:30 and will end with a family/friends pot luck BBQ followed by a sharing what has been learned time.

June 21-24 for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Same schedule as above.

July 12-15 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. Same schedule

July 19-22 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Same schedule

August 2-5 1st, 2nd, 3rd graders. Same schedule

August 8-12 4th, 5th, 6th graders. This camp will start on a Monday and end on Thursday and follow the same time schedule as the other camps.

BOYS CAMP This day camp is for BOYS ONLY of any age. June 28-August 1.Starting time is 12:30pm and ends at 5:30. Friday will end with a family potluck BBQ and game night. We will be covering sports on horseback, including Medieval games, Native American games, speed events, shooting events, soccer and using horses in the mountains and hunting. Limited to 8 participants. $200.00

"I Want To Show!"- This camp will start on July 26 and ends with traveling to an open SMHSC horse show in Anaconda, MTon July 30. The day sessions will run from 12:30pm to 5:30pm. Friday will be a sleep over and leave early Saturday morning for the show. Limited to 8 riders. May bring your own horse or use a lesson horse. We will be covering all show ring topics including showmanship, pleasure classes, equitation classes and halter. We will cover western and english styles. Camp will be individually adjusted to fit the skills of the riders. We will cover grooming and clipping, show prep for horse and riders and show attire. Cost is $300.00 which will cover travel expenses to the show. Entry fees for the show will be extra.
